A Smart Box quite complete, with 4 GB of RAM output, Wi-Fi aC, Gigabit Ethernet, Android TV 11 as operating system and ability to decode the AV1 codec thanks to its AMlogic S905X4 processor. This is a Box suitable for use as a multimedia player, with KODI, CoreELEC or similar or to run games or emulators such as those we can use from EmuELEC. An Android Box that are suitable for using paid streaming platforms.

The included remote control, at least, is a little better than what we usually find because it includes a microphone for use with Google Assistant and gyroscopes.

This is basically the same box as Vontar X4, with the Amlogic S905x4 chip. The differences are the design and firmware, developed by SlimboxTV. This firmware makes the box look like a smart TV. We have direct contact with SlimboxTV and we always have the latest versions on our firmware page, for a download. Programming the new firmware takes approx. 15 minutes.

Beelink GT-King II we have a new toy in this range thanks to the SoC Amlogic A311D2.

This TV-Box in addition to the processor offers Android 11 and no less than 8GB of RAM LPDDR4X  8GB/64GB, certainly an interesting machine for those who need these specifications. It´s also have Wi-fi 6 2T2R + BT 5.0 integrated to have good wireless connectivity, Gigabit Ethernet adapter and video decoding support up to 8K@30fps.

As for GPU we have the Amlogic Video Engine processor with support for AV1 codec, this hardware supports HDR, Dolby Vision, Advanced HDR10 and HDR10+. The on-board soldered RAM memory is 8 GB LPDDR4X at 4266 MHz, while the storage is 64 GB eMMc 5.1 high-speed. We can expand the storage thanks to a micro SD card reader on the side.

VONTAR R3 Android 13 RK3528 4GB 64GB

This chip is a Quad Core with low power consumption ARM Cortex-A53 processors and a modest ARM MALI-450 MP2 GPU. For RAM we have version 4 GB DDR3 and for storage others with the usual 64 GB of eMMc memory. We also have a micro SD card reader. In the field of wireless connectivity, we have a good endowment to find Wi-Fi 6 with internal antenna and Bluetooth 5.0. As connectors, we find in its small square plastic box a USB 2.0 port, another USB 3.0, 10/100 network connector, 3.5 mm jack audio and analogue video output and an HDMI 2.1 video output port.

The operating system is Android 13 which includes in its software an option for Root selection and autostart with which we can automatically run the app we select.

Vontars R3 Box is a good box for this price. Works well even if it is not the fastest. Should you have a second box, at home or on the trip, this is a good alternative

AM8 Pro is a black metallic square box, it is made of metal. Blacked out aluminum shell, to be exact. With plenty of venting holes and slots. The power led is actually on the top of the box, inside the first “o” of Ugoos manufacturer’s logo. The box also comes with a dual antenna setup which may be responsible for the very good Wi-Fi performance measured. The Amlogic S928X-K is a version of this chip that includes support for Dolby Audio, DTS and Dolby Vision making it ideal for audio and video quality even in 8K resolutions. To all this, we add the presence of Widevine L1 certification, making it a good choice for viewing streaming platforms in good quality.

The operating system is Android 11 with OTA updates and exclusive tools of this brand as Root control, SAMBA server and extra configuration options. An extra that as is always very interesting.

The Ugoos SK1 integrates the powerful Penta Core Amlogic S928X-K processor manufactured in 12nm. A chip with a high performance ARM Cortex-A76 core accompanied by 4 ARM Cortex-A55 cores. The iGPU we have in this Amlogic is an ARM-G57 MC2 with support for OpenGL ES 3.2, Vulkan 1.2 and OpenCL 2.0. It also includes support for HDR10 , HDR10, HLG, AV1, VP9, H.265, AVS3 …. We also have a 3.2 TOPS AI accelerator with support for TensorFlow and Caffe.

Of this Android Box we have a single version with 8 GB of RAM LPDDR4X and 128 GB of storage memory eMMc. A micro SD card reader is also included in case we want to expand the storage.

Inside the H96 MAX V58 we have as engine the Rockchip RK3588 processor manufactured in 8nm. A chip that integrates 4 ARM Cortex-A76 cores capable of reaching 2.4 GHz + another 4 ARM Cortex-A55 CPUs that reach up to 1.8 GHz. In the graphics section, we have a powerful ARM Mali-G610MC4 GPU.

The RAM is 8 GB LPDDR4 and the storage is 64 GB eMMc, we do not see a micro SD card reader so if we want to expand the storage we will have to use one of the USB ports. Little brother to H96 Max V58. This is quite high, up on the list of good Android boxes.

A Box that includes a Rockchip Quad Core RK3566 SoC, with low consumption 64-bit ARM Cortex-A55 processors and a Mali-G52-2EE GPU.

H96 MAX M9S Android 14 Octa Core RK3576 8GB/128GB 8K

1000M DDR4 USB3.0  4k AI Smart Android Box.

We highly recommend this Android Box. An AI and at a very good price, which we at THEBOX TECHCUBE can get, beacuse we have direct contact with the manufacturer.

The Rockchip processor found in this Box is very present in development boards, although it is not seen too much in TV-Box, probably because of its price. An SoC with ARM Cortex-A72 and ARM Cortex-A53 cores, although manufactured in 8nm so the consumption and temperatures will be quite contained. The operating system is Android TV 14, and we see that it has support for AV1, AVS2 codecs… and a 6 TOPS NPU for artificial intelligence work. The power of the NPU is harnessed with AI VisionPQ technology that will theoretically improve image scaling, eliminate noise and improve face textures, among others.

Inside this Android Box we find the Rockchip RK3576 SoC manufactured in 8nm. This chip is an Octa Core with 4 ARM Cortex-A72 processors that reach a maximum speed of 2.2 Ghz and 4 ARM Cortex-A53 cores that reach a maximum speed of 1.8 Ghz. For the iGPU this time we have opted for an ARM MALI-G52 MC3 and how could it be otherwise we have a 6 TOPS NPU to accelerate iA works.

For RAM memory we have options with 8 GB DDR3 and for storage we find versions with 128 GB eMMc. If we want to expand the storage we will have to use one of the two USB connectors available by connecting a pendrive for example.

For network connectivity we have a wireless RJ45 Gigabit network port, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. The connectors are located on the back of its plastic case and are a SPDIF digital audio output, a USB 3.0, another USB 2.0, 3.5 mm audio jack, and an HDMI 2.1 video output connector.

The rest of the H96 Max M9S configuration is not bad at all, as we have good connectivity for wireless networks with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and a Gigabit network port. We also have plenty of ports and a Bluetooth remote control with mic and different shortcut keys to streaming platforms.
